RARE Denver Spurs Game Worn WHA Hockey Jersey
The rarest of all WHA jerseys! Denver Spurs 1975/1976 season. This team only played part of one season and for the last few games the were playing in Ottawa as the Ottawa Civics. Only a few games were played in Ottawa with the team continuing to use the Spurs jersey.
This jersey is one of the actual jerseys made for the WHA team they started the year using the Spurs minor league jersey they had used in the 1974/1975 season before they were in the WHA.
After a few games the official WHA jerseys arrived for use.
This game worn jersey shows lots of use with significant pilling, small tears, stick marks and at least 1 trainer repair. Name plat on back was removed by the player himself, Assistant Captain Bob Liddington.
After the team folded mid season, Liddington gave the jersey to an Ottawa area junior hockey player when they met in a hotel. The jersey has been carefully stored since that time for 34 years. This jersey was obtained by Glory Days from the original owner.
