The Suntory Art Foundation's "Composers' Solo Exhibitions" concert series, which focuses on outstanding Japanese composers, has contributed to the development of music creation in Japan. 2016 saw the inaugural performance of the new "Composers' Solo Exhibitions II" series by Ichiro Nohira and Akira Nishimura. Following the premiere of a mutually commissioned new work, an unprecedented collaboration unfolded in the piano concerto "Crossing A.I.," in which one composed the solo part and the other the orchestral part. The talented Yoichi Sugiyama conductor/Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra presents a live recording of this groundbreaking world premiere.
