Inbal Segev, the famous female cellist! Commissioned album by 20 composers! The third Avie album by Inbal Segev, a renowned cellist from Israel! A collection of commissioned works featuring 20 outstanding contemporary composers! Inbal Segev was born in Israel, studied at the Juilliard School and Yale University School of Music, and made his debut at the age of 17 with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Zubin Mehta. The third release from Avie Records is a collection of commissioned works by 20 composers. The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 caused social anxiety and sadness for many people, but at the same time, it also united people in admiration and gratitude for the medical professionals working on the front lines. It also served as a catalyst for people to come together in admiration and gratitude for the health care workers on the front lines. Deeply affected by the events of the past two years, Inbal Segev launched a commissioned project called "20 for 2020," which is also the title of this album, featuring 20 outstanding contemporary composers.While many of the works reflect dark moods such as pandemics, the BLM movement, isolation, and death, this is a good showcase of a celebration of brilliant cello works in the 21st century, including works that show bright signs of convergence.
