Use for musical instruments, custom tools, model building, and countless other creative projects.
Insert nuts are designed to be pressed or heat-set into materials like wood and plastic to create durable threaded holes. Regular nuts are typically used with bolts and require access to both sides of the material.
For plastics: Use a soldering iron with a flat tip to heat the insert while pressing it into a pre-drilled hole. For wood: Drill an appropriately sized hole and press the insert in using a arbor press or hammer (gently).
We recommend drilling a hole slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the insert. Generally: M2 (1.8mm), M2.5 (2.2mm), M3 (2.6mm), M4 (3.5mm), M5 (4.4mm), M6 (5.2mm).
These insert nuts are designed for wood and plastics. For metal applications, we recommend using rivet nuts or weld nuts specifically designed for metal substrates.
