Goldsmith’s Omen score is one of the most distinct and recognisable scores, combining creepy orchestrations with a brooding backing choir, which helps to portray the biblical overtones and undertones of the film. The choir backing segments add a lot of unease and menace to the film, and the occasional chanting during frantic sections adds a real sense of urgency to proceedings.
As well as the adrenaline junky moments, his work takes time out in the manor of more peaceful and serene passages which provide not only a good comparison to the more frantic music, but also create a false sense of security in many ways.
