Malaco Original Albums: The second in a series of straight reissues. This album was recorded in 1983 by G.C. Cameron, the lead singer of The Spinners, who returned to his hometown in Mississippi and recorded it as "Southern Man. The album features a cover of Marvin Gaye's "Pride and Joy" and "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday," a song later covered and made famous by the Boys 2 Men, as well as an exquisite blend of northern and new soul sounds and in-your-face Malaco style southern soul. This is one of Malaco's masterpieces of the 80's. (C)RS
