Rare new Rosé from Immortal Estate. Limited.
91 Points Jeb Dunnuck: "The Immortal Estate 2023 Rose is a blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Rolle and displays a pale silver/salmon color. Fermented in neutral barrel and puncheon, it saw eight months on the lees. The nose is approachable and fresh with aromas of wild strawberries, orange sherbet, and citrus blossoms. It’s zesty and refreshing on the palate, with a bright citrus drive, a medium-bodied texture, and a mouthwatering finish. Drink over the next several years. 200 cases were produced."
This delicate expression of the Immortal Estate 2023 Rosé is a study in purity and subtle intensity. Drink cool and pair widely. Grenache (41%), Mourvedre (4%), Rolle (Vermentino) (55%). Delicious! Hand harvested and meticulously sorted, the combined fruit was delivered whole cluster directly to the press and gently squeezed, the juice chilled briefly in tank under a blanket of inert gas, then directed to a selection of French oak barriques for a cool fermentation. The barrels were topped after their 25-day fermentation and stirred only once during elevage to contribute texture and mouthfeel. Malolactic fermentation was inhibited in order to retain the wine’s natural acidity.
...Immortal Estate is a project of Tim Martin of Tusk in Napa, Randy Nichols, and winemaker Timothy Milos. Tim was drawn to the diversity of Sonoma and wanted to make a truly luxury wine on the other side of the mountain. Immortal is located just on the other side of Spring Mountain and is a terraced vineyard site on 55-degree slopes. The estate was officially rebranded in 2014.
