The K-16DX is a high-security combination paper/optical media shredder that is approved for top-secret classified destruction of all paper and optical media, including:

It has an NSA/CSS Performance Test Rating of High Volume for Paper.

The K-16DX is equipped with two separate cutting systems with each cutting head driven by an independent 24-Hour Continuous Duty Motor and an All-Steel Chain Drive System. A cutting system with a 0.8mm x 5mm cut for the classified destruction of Paper and Top-Secret Documents. Another special 2mm x 2mm cutting system for the shredding of Optical and Mixed Media. It has an effective throughput of over 20 Reams per Hour and 1,500 Discs per Hour.

The K-16DX cutting head is built using Carbon Hardened Steel Cutting Knives and Floating Head Technology. Floating Head Cutters are more durable, wear resistant and easier to repair in case of accidental damage than shredders that use solid block cutting heads. Cutting head repair is possible with the replacement of individual cutters in the event of damage, an option not available on most shredders. Heavy Duty Chain Drive and Steel Gears with no internal nylon or plastic gears that are common in lower quality shredders.

With a Compact Floor Footprint of only 23.5 inches by 19 inches, the K-16DX is suitable for any office space. The K-16DX has Dual Feed Openings with Safety Covers and is equipped with the Energy Smart System for power saving stand-by mode. Also includes an Internal Automatic Oiler that lubricates the cutting head during operation and an All-Steel Cabinet on castors. Other features include Automatic Start/Stop, Auto Reverse Anti-Jam Protection, Auto Stop Bag Full and Door Open Safety Switches. Two Waste Bins separate paper and media particles. Special Jam and Maintenance Cycle automatically clears and lubricates cutting systems for the highest level of efficiency.
