Scottish Opera and Biggar Gin are delighted to present Suonare, a craft gin created in celebration of Scottish Opera’s 60^th anniversary.

London Dry in style, the citrus-led gin is inspired by places with a connection to opera: oranges from Seville, lavender from France, bergamot from Calabria in Italy, pink peppercorn from South America and, of course, nettles from the Borders of Scotland.

Designed to be beautiful both visually and aurally, the label can be carefully removed from the bottle and inserted into a music box to play the aria ‘Un Bel Di’ from Puccini’s masterpiece, Madama Butterfly – a favourite of Scottish Opera’s founder, Sir Alexander Gibson, and the Company’s first ever production back in 1962.

This is a gin inspired by opera, rooted in shared traditions of artisan craftsmanship, respect for heritage and vision for the future.
