This is the first work by saxophonist Walter Smith III, who has performed with Herbie Hancock, Jason Moran, Terence Blanchard, Maria Schneider, and others since his debut in 2006, and has always been active at the forefront of the scene. Smith is currently performing at the prestigious Village Vanguard as a leader for the first time. This work is a sequel to "still casual," which was independently released in 2014, and features pianist Taylor Aigusti, guitarist Matthew Stevens, bassist Harish Raghavan, and drummer Kendrick Scott. Guests trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire and pianist James Francies also add their skilled depth to the album. The album features nine original compositions and one Kate Bush cover. All of the songs were composed in a matter of weeks. The album is also available as a 180g vinyl LP.
