DESCRIPTIONS

The Fourth Element J2 base layer undergarment is specifically designed for extended use under a drysuit. The garment is designed to wick perspiration from the skin keeping a dry area next to the skin. With air being a better insulator than water the ability to keep this dry zone ensures better thermal protection. Tried and tested microbial silver ions are embedded into the fabric enabling long repetitive wear without the risk of developing skin infections.

The wicking performance of the J2 undergarment means that even in the even of a full flood it will retain some of it's performance by wicking water away from the skin, and with the right combination of drysuit underwear, further from the fibers of the under suit.

The bacteriostatic and anti-fungal materials of the fabric are ensured by incorporating silver ions into the fibers during manufacture. This means they cannot be washed off. The silver ions prevent the formation of bacterial cell membranes in turn preventing most bacteria from growing in the garment whilst not adversely affecting natural bacteria on the wearers skin.

Silver ions are incorporated into the fibers when they are manufactured, ensuring that the bacteriostatic and anti-fungal properties of the fabric last. This cannot be washed off. The silver ions prevent the formation of bacterial cell membranes, preventing most bacteria from growing in the fibers of the garment. However, this will not adversely affect the naturally occurring bacteria on the skin itself.
