In my drawings and paintings my concerns are with provoking viewers into an emotional response. I have a love for plants and I use the jungle-scape as a catalyst to display them. I want the viewer to experience a sense of a spirited high because the viewer not only looks at my drawings, but has almost to read them because of the fine detail I have crammed into these particular works of art. Since the viewer is encouraged to observe the drawings in a detailed manner, the viewer is then able to experience the joy of plants and the many insects and animals that crawl, walk, and fly through them. The detail helps you to experience the feeling of being there. I try as well to make my art portray asense of peace, with sometimes erotic overtures.

Some of my other concerns are historical and culturally diversified elements. In this aspect I seek to emulate stylized cultural and architectural symbols from around the world. For example, I use African, Egyptian, Islamic, Oriental, European, South American, and art deco icons and motifs. These more or less abstract graphic designs are used as borders around my jungle-scapes and a fairly new type of drawing not at all like the jungle-scapes, but with an element of the icons and motif of my borders.

In all of my works line and texture play an important part. Through a juxtaposition of patterns and textures I also create a sense of movement in what appears at first to be a static scene.
