American blues-rock guitarist, singer and songwriter, Joe Bonamassa started his career at age twelve, when he opened for B.B. King. Since Y2K2, Bonamassa has released fifteen solo albums through his independent label J&R Adventures, of which eleven have reached No. 1 on the Billboard Blues chart.
In 2020, Bonamassa created ‘Keeping the Blues Alive Records’, an independent label that promotes and supports the talents of up and coming blues musicians. Current artists include Dion DiMucci, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Joanna Connor, Larry McCray and many others.
Bonamassa’s fourth studio album, Had to Cry Today, came out in August 2004. Produced by Bob Held, it reached number five on the US Billboard Top Blues Albums chart. Following its release, Joe and his band performed a number of sporadic dates in the US, but did not tour the album in any substantial manner. In 2005, the group again only performed occasionally, but did venture outside America, playing a single date in the UK, four in the Netherlands and five in Germany. Of the entire mini-Euro tour, the finest gig performed took place in Rheinberg, Germany on May 1.
During a stunning show, Joe and his regular touring ensemble played as though their very lives depended on it, and the entire event was recorded for live FM radio broadcast across continental Europe. Still a favourite among fans of the great man, this new CD now includes the entire concert.
