When I began working for this exhibit, my first thought was that "phases" sounded much like "faces'; in Spanish we talk about "las caras de la luna" and in my work I make faces, so it was a perfect fit.

These four phases of the moon are represented as four stages in a life time or period. The newborn, unconcerned and vulnerable; the growing-up period, insecure and a bit uncertain but full of energy and hopes of the future; the maturity, bringing what/who we are to its full potential and not worried about other's expectations; and being old, where most of what we have is our memories and experience. ~ Patricia Krebs, Artist
