Reissue of the 1995 recording of King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall I, who was known to everyone in Nigeria in 1995. Digipack with new jacket. Mega hits like 'Talazo' and 'Consolidation' played at house parties, club floors, store fronts, car windows, and everywhere else, the percussion-rich polyrhythms and yoruba singing of this once iconic Fuji musician, Ayinde Ballister. Roadies jumped out from the percussion and street like congas and frame drums, a genre that was newly customized. Wasiu Ayinde had nearly two decades of national fame under his floor-length robe (and the occasional zebra print jumpsuit) when he first appeared at the 1995 WOMAD Festival. Although booked for a session at Real World Recording Week immediately after the festival, the artist and his 16-piece band were inadvertently delayed, arriving eight hours late at Real World Studios in Box, Wiltshire, where the film's The recording session took place.On the spur of the moment, with a small live audience in party mode, microphones positioned on the floor, Wasiu Ayinde and his crew rode the adrenaline, grooving and feeling their way through trance-inducing call and response, vibrant Afro-pop ballads to the aforementioned mega hits The band's set was soaked in groove and feeling.
