Up for sale is a beautiful example of American tool history: the Vaughan & Bushnell No. 803 "Lincoln" Smooth Plane. Unlike the more common Stanley counterparts of the era, the V&B Lincoln series was marketed as "virtually unbreakable" due to its high-quality cast-iron construction. This 803 model is sought after for its compact size, making it the perfect smoothing plane for final finish work on fine lumber.

Features & Specifications

Body: Solid cast iron, 9-1/8" long.
Cutter: 1-3/4" wide. Original V&B Vanadium steel.
Knob & Tote: Original Walnut. The Lincoln series was distinguished by its use of genuine walnut, providing a superior feel and classic aesthetic.
Adjustments: Features the traditional screw-style depth adjustment and lateral lever.
