Description:
Yo-Yo Ma! Don Quixote" live with Jansons & BavariaThe Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra's live performance in Munich with world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Yo-Yo Ma's cello in the role of "The Sorrowful Knight" is full of beautiful songs and delicately portrays the tragic suffering of Don Quixote, skillfully expressing the soul of Don Quixote. The viola of Sancho Panza is played by Wen Hsiao Tseng, who has been the principal viola player of the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks since 2014, and his virtuosity is also a sight to behold. The encores by Yo-Yo Ma include music by Massenet and Elissondo. Master conductor Jansons, who has been the principal conductor of the orchestra since 2003, conducts with power and passion. The openness of Strauss's Romantic grand orchestral music, as one would expect from a great Romantic orchestral musician, is superb. Dvořák's 8th Symphony was also a satisfying performance, with plenty of beautiful melodies and a solid musical structure. This is a performance to be enjoyed together with the previously released live video of "From the New World" from 2014 (BELVED0-8016/BELVED-08015). King International
