Description:
Karl Böhm, one of the most famous conductors of the 20th century, is best known for his numerous masterful performances with the Vienna Philharmonic, but he was also a frequent guest of the Berlin Philharmonic, with whom he developed a good relationship. The duo's excellent collaboration included the complete Schubert symphonies recorded for Deutsche Grammophon between 1963 and 1971. Böhm's interpretation of Schubert's music, which honestly brings out the sing-song nature of Schubert's music, has never faded, even half a century after it was recorded. This disc contains Schubert's most popular symphonies, No. 8 "Unfinished" and No. 9 "The Great". The Greatest won the 1964 Recording Academy Award, and the complete symphonies won the 1973 Recording Academy Award. Universal Music
