Karl Böhm, one of the most famous conductors of the 20th century, is best known for his numerous masterful performances with the Vienna Philharmonic, but he was also a frequent guest of the Berlin Philharmonic, with whom he developed a good relationship. The duo's excellent collaboration included the complete Schubert symphonies recorded for Deutsche Grammophon between 1963 and 1971.
