The pairing always seemed like an odd fit. Robert Plant, who sang and wrote songs for a band named Led Zeppelin, and Alison Krauss, who did not sing or write songs for a band called Led Zeppelin, but rather her own name (which led to the most Grammy wins for a woman until very recently) do not at first glance seem like a match made in heaven. And maybe that's what made their first collaboration so bewitching fourteen years ago. That same mystique, the a byproduct of their uncanny connection, is immediate on Raise The Roof, where they once again tackle a survey of folk, country and blues joints.
