With the exception of a few operas and other works, there are no fade-outs or movement excerpts, and the series is based on the recording of all the movements of a single work. This is a collection of Prokofiev's masterpieces that left a significant mark on the history of music in the 20th century. Conducted by Rostropovich and Maazel with Abbado at the helm. The soloists are Richter, Argerich, and Mintz, a diverse and splendid lineup. The Piano Concerto No. 3 is Argerich's first recording with Abbado. Maazel's Symphony No. 5 is on Decca's original recording.
