Cleanse and assess the wound bed as appropriate. Select a dressing size 1 inch larger than the maximum wound dimension length or width to allow a minimum of inch of skin contact beyond the wound margin. Protect skin as needed with liquid barrier film remove one side of the film liner and, without tension, place dressing over wound and surrounding skin remove remaining film liner and, without tension, smooth dressing over wound and surrounding skin.
