The KAZE Wrap Shirt is Roughcut’s oversized, directional take on the classic Chinese cheongsam (qipao) — translating its diagonal front closure and clean collar geometry into a loose, modern workwear silhouette.

Where Kiri is sculpted and fitted, Kaze is boxy, sharp, and architectural. The extended front body panel echoes the off-centre cheongsam placket, reimagined as a wrap system that anchors at the side seam and ties into the waist.

This pattern focuses on straight-line geometry, bold panels, and clear wrap mechanics, making it a perfect entry point into cheongsam-influenced construction for makers who prefer relaxed, menswear-inspired shapes.

The collar is built around a simplified Mandarin-style stand, giving the neckline height and structure while keeping the overall fit easy and breathable. The body drops from the shoulders in a clean, boxy line, designed to layer over trousers or the Kumo Wrap Pants.
