For some reason it was kept a secret until now. Nils Frahm's piano work from 2009 is now available for the first time! This is the CD version of the sound recording that will be released at this year's Piano Day. Nils Frahm has quietly changed the world by taking the centuries-old tradition of pianist-composer and reincarnating it for a new generation of music fans. The present release is a previously unreleased snapshot of the young Nils, recorded at Mumuth, the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, as part of his 2009 dissertation "Conversations for Piano and Room," produced by Thomas Geiger. Two of the pieces (especially "Hammers") live on as part of his live set and were reconstructed on his 2013 album "Spacies". His essential genius life of classical harmonic language and jazz improvisation can be glimpsed in this work.
