This beautifully crafted and rare belt walked the runway in a brown variation as part of Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2009 collection. These belts featured multiple times on the runway, grounding the frothy, romantic dresses in a collection where, according to Vogue, “McQueen's couture sensibilities are breathtaking in close-up”. Crafted from thick black leather labelled “vera pelle”, it is shaped to fit under the bust, curving up and around the sides of the bust, and sweep down over the sides of the hips. The leather is intricately detailed with elaborate cut-outs which take the form of florals and foliage, easy to make out the roses and irises among them. The belt is detailed with zig-zagging white stitching which plays to the Western feel. The back is closed with three chunky buckles, attached with contrasting white thread. There is the option of two belt holes. The belt is unlined.

This piece is in very good archival vintage condition. Please note, there is some mild wear to the leather around the buckles and a few scratches and indentations in the leather of the belt itself. It is a size Italian 40, UK 8 and labelled 100% Leather. Please check the below measurements.
