This is for our bare root native Cherry Laurel evergreen hedge plants (Prunus Rotundifolia).

Laurels are evergreen giving you year-round privacy and are great for reducing noise with large dense rich shiny green coloured leaves.

If you don’t prune them before the flowers appear in early Spring they form lovely delicate creamy white flowers and black berries in the Autumn.

Laurels will grow up to 60cm per year so will quickly make a tall hedge – they can grow up to 10m tall but are happy being trimmed from 1m upwards – we recommend you trim once a year in the Autumn to keep the foliage dense, or in early Spring if you want to avoid the flowers and berries.

They will grow in full sun to full shade and most soil types although we don’t recommend for coastal areas as they don’t like salt in the air – Green Privet is a better option for this!

All you need to do is simply choose the height of the plants you want to plant now and the number of plants you need.

We recommend 3 plants per metre in a double zig-zag row for a thick hedge, but you can get away with 3-4 per metre in a staggered row if you don’t mind waiting an extra year or two to form a thick hedge.

For best results plant with Rootgrow gel – it increases the growth rate by up to 50% and really helps the plants establish.

Keep them well watered – especially in the Spring and Summer in the first year of planting.
