This 25pc heat-stamped wooden Elder Futhark Runes are made from poplar wood. A drawstring storage pouch is also included.

Full-size runes measure approximately 20-30 mm diameter and can vary. Both sides are lightly sanded.

The Elder Futhark or Germanic Futhark is the oldest form of the runic alphabet. It was a writing system used by Germanic tribes for Northwest Germanic dialects in the Migration Period, the dates of which are debated among scholars. Runic inscriptions are found on artifacts, including jewelry, amulets, tools, weapons, and, of course, runestones, from the 2nd to the 8th centuries.

The Elder Futhark (named after the initial phoneme of the first six rune names: F, U, Þ, A, R, and K) has 24 runes, often arranged in three groups of eight runes.
