She has an MFA from Tyler School of Art at Temple University and a BFA from Colorado State University. She was a professor at Virginia Commonwealth University in the Department of Craft/Material Studies for 40 years and has taught all levels of textile classes. She has held workshops on the pulled-warp technique, including at Penland School of Craft, and has used it widely in her work as a studio artist. Her art has been exhibited widely throughout the United States and in Canada, Italy, Poland, Australia, and Uzbekistan.
