Thanaka wood is a traditional, fragrant tree from Myanmar (Hesperethusa crenulata). Its bark and wood have been used for more than 2,000 years to create a natural skincare product. The wood is ground on a stone slab (Kyauk Pyin) to make a powder or paste, which is used as a face pack to help with sunburn, acne, and to keep the skin cool.
