A showy late-Victorian Aesthetic Movement side table with an octagonal burr-veneer top, centred by a crisp marquetry roundel and fine line inlay. Eight turned supports rise from a shaped stretcher with a pierced and galleried undertier, all standing on the original small castors for easy move-about styling.
The look lands perfectly with today’s Old Money and maximalist interiors—ornate, architectural and wonderfully detailed—great beside a sofa, in a reading nook, or as a statement drinks table.
Burr-veneer octagonal top with boxwood/ebonised line inlay and foliate marquetry medallion
Multiple turned legs; shaped stretchers and fretwork lower shelf
Original castors
c.1880–1900
Good, decorative antique condition with honest age: surface marks and old finish wear to the top, small veneer/shrinkage lines, scuffs to legs, and a few knocks. A small piece is missing between one of the legs and stretchers but the table remains sturdy. One of the castors is broken.
