I think that the more I look at things, the more I find myself gravitating to far opposite ends of the spectrum: either super simple, or super eccentic—this Grueby tile being, for me, just about the ultimate simple, perfect thing. It is Grueby, which produced pottery in Boston, MA  from 1894-1919, that made the best of the best, most prized matte green glaze, which this tile delivers in its purest form. Yum.

8 7/8” l x 3 “ w x 3/4” t and in very good condition, no chips or cracks, just some crazing and irregularities to the glaze.
