An old make do lid, found by a picker friend near Albany, NY. Feels a bit like a Viking shield, good for self protecting and warding off the world! And with flat, smooth surface, it makes a useful pot lid indeed. I'm not totally sure what the handle was salvaged from, but it is tin I believe, seems likely from an antique tin camp cup or measure or similar.  

11 1/4" d one way, 10 1/4" the opposite, 1 3/8" t at handle. Uneven edges as evident, all to the good, nice old surface and patina. Handle well attached with just a tiny bit of wiggle. Substantial but not very heavy.
