A rare 1930s Art Deco solid oak armchair manufactured by E Gomme of High Wycombe, England, from their "New Cromwell" range, which pioneered coordinated dining sets in the pre-war era. The design is very distinctive with its curved plank side panels that extend down to serve as solid leg supports, its close-nailed (studded) trim running along the perimeter of the upholstered frame & the scroll-front armrests crafted from solid English oak. The oak frame is in beautiful condition & the chair upholstery has been professionally reupholstered in a Yorkshire Camira fabric. Priced for the pair. See listing for footstool in the same fabric.
