I hardly ever make earrings, but I recently came across a pair of Rutilated Quartz gems that just HAD to be earrings, and here they are! These Sterling Silver earrings feature MATCHED outstanding Red Rutilated Quartz drops topped by stones of Catlinite (Sacred Pipestone, from Minnesota, prized by Native Americans for use in making ceremonial pipes such as Chanunpas.) I made these with open backs so that the light could play with the sparkling red Rutile as they move, and I put French ear wires on them to offer strength and security while they are being worn.
