Our ingredients

To make our food, we dry-cure 10.6 kg of meat for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to incorporate into our kibble. With the right amounts of vegetables, fruit, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-raised, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh flavor and rich color, and it's packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together give our kibble its delicious flavor and aroma. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry promote healthy muscle growth and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

The healthy herbs that enrich our food are derived from plants grown in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and seaweed, among other things, goes back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its beneficial properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, specific ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific ailments can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Bull Terrier specific vegetables, herbs and fruits

We have carefully researched the Bull Terrier's breed characteristics. We have also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Bull Terrier belongs. Based on this research, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, we have selected ingredients that optimally benefit the Bull Terrier's health and well-being.

Thyme

Thyme is a genus in the Lamiaceae family. It includes herbaceous or woody plants with a highly aromatic scent. The Greeks and Romans used thyme as a medicinal herb for lung diseases, rheumatism, paralysis, stomach cramps, tumors, headaches, colic, and nervous deficiencies.

Thyme's medicinal properties are confirmed by its high vitamin K content. Thyme also contains plenty of iron, as well as the minerals calcium and manganese. It also contains the amino acid tryptophan and a significant amount of fiber.

Thyme has anti-inflammatory and powerful antibacterial and antifungal properties. It also stimulates the production of white blood cells and strengthens the immune system. Thyme is rich in antioxidants and effectively fights free radicals.

At Yourdog, we add thyme to our dog food because it's believed to help prevent breed-specific complaints related to rheumatism, paralysis, stomach problems, and nerves. Thyme is also a natural antibacterial agent.

Echinacea

Echinacea belongs to the Asteraceae family, which is native to eastern North America. Several plants in this family are attributed with medicinal properties. For example, the plant is associated with strengthening the immune system and treating respiratory infections.

Research has shown that echinacea can have an anti-inflammatory effect in dogs. Blood tests have also shown that it has a positive effect on dogs' health and immune system. For example, it can reduce cold symptoms such as runny nose and coughing.

At Yourdog, we add echinacea to our dog food because it can positively contribute to strengthening the dog's resistance and contributing to its overall health.

Apple

The apple tree is a tree in the Malus genus, which produces the eating apples, particularly common in the Northern Hemisphere. It grows in temperate regions.

Dietary fiber has a versatile effect in the digestive tract. It absorbs moisture, making stool soft and smooth. Dietary fiber also increases intestinal volume. This not only stimulates intestinal function but also ensures thorough elimination of waste.

Apples are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. They're also rich in pectin. Pectin is a soluble fiber that helps support healthy gut flora. It also contributes to the palatability of the chunks, and apples are low in calories.

Rich in vitamins A and C. Vitamin A is good for the skin and coat and strengthens the immune system. Vitamin C supports muscle and bone development during early childhood.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Bull Terrier dog food options, you can use the following guidelines. If your Bull Terrier is under 11 months old, choose the Puppy option. For a Bull Terrier over 7 years old, we recommend the Yourdog Bull Terrier Senior. If your dog is over 11 months old and under 7 years old, choose the Adult option.

Nutritional advice

Switching advice

If you're switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. First, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. Your dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It's important to let your dog get used to this for two or three days as well. Then, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. Your dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Continue this for two days. After this, you can switch to 100% Yourdog Bull Terrier dog food at your own discretion.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and flavor. Therefore, it's important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight container or barrel in a dry, cool, and dark place. It's best not to put the food loose in the barrel, but to place the entire bag inside, sealing it as tightly as possible.
