We’ve tested many, but we love the durability, coverage and value of the AXP Racing Xtreme HDPE skid plate. 

Made from CNC-machined HDPE plastic (8mm thickness), its protection is bomber, as it's mounted independently from the engine block, ensuring no shocks or energy transfer can reach the engine. 

Has four mounting points at front and two precision aluminum mounts at rear, which attach to the foot-peg mounts. This combination offers a secure and reliable fitment without any risk to block, side cases or fuel tank.

Hard vs. Touring Model

The Hard model securely attaches the rear section of the skid plate to the frame's center stand mount, offering a reliable and robust mounting option that can withstand significant wear and tear. Meanwhile, the Touring model allows for installation of a center stand while also accommodating an AXP skid plate. However, in this setup, the skid plate is mounted to the engine, making it more suitable for touring and gravel riding rather than navigating over obstacles like logs and rocks. For riders who primarily use their bike for non-trail riding and desire a center stand, this skid plate is the perfect choice.

Gen 2 updates

• Weight : 4.1Kg - 9.03 lbs
• This new version keeps the best of the old model and adds some improvements. The AXP skid plate offers a better protection on each side of the fuel tank by covering the fuel pump and adding a foam pad in between to avoid friction and slivers of paint.
• Redesigned to make the fitment easier with the KTM fuel pump.
• The mudguard is now placed in front of the plate to prevent it from melting and its new shape avoids any issue with the front fender.
• The welds have been modified and reinforced thanks to 4mm alloy parts placed inside of the plate.
• A small hole on the right side of the engine guard allows to pass the hose through.
• NOT COMPATIBLE with any crash bar.
• Hard model NOT COMPATIBLE with any center stand.
• Touring model is compatible with factory center stand.
