This Telegraph Office is modeled after standard designs used by the Nickel Plate Road. These small trackside offices were placed throughout the Nickel Plate system, with similar structures appearing along railroads across the United States, making this building both regionally authentic and broadly applicable.

The model features exceptional interior and exterior detail. Inside, you’ll find a fully outfitted space including a telegrapher’s desk, waiting area, doors, counter, bench, and stove. The exterior is finished with realistic wood siding that captures the character of these historic railroad structures.

Originally heated by an oil-burning stove, the prototype included a small offshoot closet for oil storage. In this model, that space has been thoughtfully repurposed to allow for interior LED lighting (LED not included). A hole on the underside and a small access opening into the office make illumination easy and discreet.
