About Warring States Beads:

Commonly referred to as "Warring States Beads" (【Warring States Beads】), these beads were crafted during China's Warring States period, which spans from the 5th to the 3rd century BCE, prior to the unification under the Qin Dynasty. The earliest known Chinese glass artifacts, dating back to the 11th to 8th century BCE, were discovered in Luoyang, Henan Province. However, widespread production of glass items began in earnest during the Warring States period. Early Warring States beads often featured a ceramic base known as faience, decorated with glass patterns. Later on, fully glass beads were also produced. Many of these beads, including those known as "Seven-Star Beads" and "Layered Eye Beads," showcase intricate spot patterns. Although the techniques and design elements were influenced by Western Asia, particularly Roman glass, the materials used in Chinese glass from this era differ in composition, underscoring the advanced glass-making technology of ancient China.
