Gorgeous 1940s summer weight skirt suit with original buckle belt. The fabric is a medium weight dark gray cotton and rayon blend with a woven in cross check design in black as pictured. The hourglass shaped peplum jacket features front and back vertical darts for a perfect fit. The double layered peplum is a separate piece sewn to the nipped waist. There are pockets on each front side of the peplum as pictured. Wrist length sleeves with fold back winged cuffs. Small interior shoulder pads for shaping. Does up with two 1" diameter dark gray lucite buttons. Matching skirt with a self fabric banded waistband and front and back darts. A-line shape. No vents. Does up the left side with a well working 6-1/2" metal zipper and single button. Both the jacket and skirt are unlined. Comes with it's original self fabric buckle belt as pictured. DESIGNER LABEL: None. There is a remnant of a tag at the interior collar of the jacket. CONDITION: Excellent - There are no stains, rips, holes, snags, odors, fading, discoloration or other issues. SIZING: There are no size tags. Based on the measurements below, I'd say this would best fit a modern size 2X.
