The Victron LiFePO4 Battery 25.6V 100Ah NG is a lithium iron phosphate battery designed for professional off-grid, marine, and backup power installations. It is part of Victron's NG (New Generation) series, built for use with compatible Victron charge controllers, inverter/chargers, and battery management systems. At 2.56kWh of usable capacity in a 25.6V nominal configuration, it suits applications where a compact, high-cycle lithium battery is required.
LiFePO4 chemistry is the preferred choice for professional energy storage where safety, cycle life, and depth of discharge matter. Unlike lead-acid batteries, LiFePO4 cells tolerate deep cycling without significant capacity degradation, and they do not require float maintenance in the same way. The 25.6V configuration is suited to 24V DC systems, which are common in marine, vehicle, and mid-scale off-grid installations.
The NG designation indicates this battery is designed to work within Victron's managed battery architecture. A compatible Victron Battery Management System (BMS) is required to protect the cells from over-charge, over-discharge, and over-temperature conditions. This is not a standalone drop-in replacement for lead-acid without appropriate BMS and charger configuration. Installers should verify compatibility with the specific Victron BMS and system components before specifying this battery.
At 18.5kg, the unit is manageable for a single installer in most scenarios, though care should be taken when mounting in confined spaces or overhead positions. Multiple units can be connected in parallel to increase system capacity, subject to Victron's published guidelines for the NG series.
This battery must be installed with a compatible Victron BMS. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or accredited installer with experience in lithium battery systems. Incorrect wiring, incompatible chargers, or the absence of a BMS can result in cell damage or safety hazards. For marine installations, ensure the battery is mounted securely and ventilated in accordance with the vessel's electrical standards. For grid-connected or solar PV systems in the UK, consult your MCS-accredited installer to confirm system compliance.
