Chia de Gracia's Collagen+ contains PETAGILE® collagen, rosehip, MSM, hyaluronic acid, and a pinch of love 🧡.

The product combines collagen peptides and nutrients typical of connective tissue as part of a balanced diet for dogs. Approximately 80% collagen content makes the product a nutrient-rich addition to the diet.

The product contains no fillers, flavourings, preservatives, or colourants.

Collagen as part of the body's structure

Collagen is one of the most common proteins in the body. An estimated 30% of the body's proteins consist of collagen.

Collagen is found in, among others:

• cartilage tissue
• tendons
• ligaments
• skin
• connective tissues

Collagen peptides are protein composed of amino acids such as glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline. These amino acids are part of the normal structure of many connective tissue structures.

Tendons, joints, and connective tissues

The musculoskeletal system of the dog is made up of several tissues, such as bones, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and muscles. What these tissues have in common is that their structure contains a high amount of collagen.

Tendons and ligaments consist largely of dense collagen fibres that form a strong yet flexible structure. This structure enables movement, load-bearing, and flexibility between different tissues.

In articular cartilage, too, collagen is an important structural protein. Cartilage tissue is composed of a collagen network containing water-binding molecules and other structural components typical of cartilage.

Because connective tissues are constantly renewing, amino acids and other nutrients obtained from the diet are part of the normal structure and metabolism of tissues.

PETAGILE® collagen

CdG Collagen+ contains bioactive collagen peptides (PETAGILE®).

Collagen peptides have been studied in animals, particularly from the perspective of cartilage and connective tissue nutrition. Studies have examined the absorption of collagen peptides and their use in animal feeding.

Other ingredients

Rosehip
Rosehip naturally contains vitamin C as well as compounds naturally found in plants such as polyphenols and carotenoids. Vitamin C participates in collagen formation in the body.

MSM
MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is an organic sulphur compound. Sulphur is part of several biological molecules and is found in, among others, amino acids and connective tissue structures.

Hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid is a natural polysaccharide found in, among others, connective tissues and the synovial fluid of joints.

Dosage:

If needed, a higher dosage can be used during the first weeks.

1 dl ≈ 40 g

At a 36 g dose, the package lasts approximately 25 days.

Recommended period of use at least 12 weeks.

Collagen peptides have been studied in numerous animal nutrition studies, particularly from the perspective of connective tissue nutrition.

Studies have examined the absorption of collagen peptides and their transport within the body. Orally ingested collagen peptides have been observed to be broken down into amino acids and small peptides, which are absorbed from the digestive tract and transported via the bloodstream to various tissues.

PETAGILE® collagen peptides have also been studied in equine research. Studies in dogs have examined the use of collagen peptides in research concerning cartilage cell metabolism.
