The world-class Bruckner performance milestone, the legendary cycle is divided into three periods in the order of the year of performance, and relived on LP analog recordings, the ultimate masterpiece of Hiroshi Wakasugi! The second season consists of three even-numbered pieces centered around "Romantic"! The legendary Bruckner Cycle of Wakasugi and the NHK Symphony Orchestra was held for three seasons and nine performances from 1996 to 1998, the 100th anniversary of Bruckner's death, the 10th anniversary of the opening of Suntory Hall, and the 70th anniversary of the founding of the NHK Symphony Orchestra. The ambitious program, entitled "Two Centuries of Catholicism," combined a Bruckner symphony and a Messiaen work for each performance. The Maestro's enthusiasm was extraordinary, and his interpretation deepened and perfected with each performance, resulting in a recording of the complete Bruckner cycle that will go down in Japanese performance history. In 2020, ALTUS released the complete works on CD for the first time, and it became a hot topic, winning a special prize in "Record Geijutsu" magazine. Now, for the first time, the NHK recordings have been re-mastered for LP by ALTUS, cut and pressed by Toyo Kasei. The three performances of the Bruckner cycle are divided into three periods in order of the year of performance so that the audience can relive the Bruckner cycle as it was then.
