René de Boisdeful, an unknown French composer! Born in 1838 in Vesoul in eastern France, René de Boisdeful studied in Paris and was influenced by his encounters with Saint-Saëns and Massenet. He composed a great deal of chamber music, such as that included on this album, but he also left behind many songs, orchestral choruses, and several piano pieces.
