This is the long-awaited collection of Japanese songs by Yukari Nonoshita, who has been active in the ancient music scene as a soloist with the BCJ and has also actively contributed to new creations by Japanese composers. The prewar masterpieces, which rapidly incorporated modern Western music, and the title piece by Makiko Kinoshita, a contemporary composer loved by a wide range of audiences, shed light on the "Japanese song" that has developed in its own unique way. The recording of Kunihiko Hashimoto's "Mai" is a revival based on the first draft. (C)RS
