Philip Glass has captivated both contemporary audiences and performers alike, and in 2021 he was awarded the BBVA Foundation's Frontiers of Knowledge Award "for his extraordinary achievements in music and opera, as well as his profound influence on the history of music in the 20th and 21st centuries. The disc was produced as a project of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in collaboration with the BBVA Foundation. The performer, Fabio Alvarez, is a pianist who studied at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, and this album also reflects his seven years of experience living in the "Big Apple," the city that never sleeps, where he arranged and narrated Einstein on the Beach - Knee Play 5 himself.
