"Der 2018er Valtuille La Vitoriana, eine neue Einzellagenabfüllung von Castro Ventosa, wurde dieses Jahr erstmals getrennt – in der Vergangenheit trug er zu anderen Mischungen bei. Das Weingut ist insgesamt vier Hektar groß und hat fünf Besitzer. Sie besitzen hier 0,9 Hektar, und es ist einer der ältesten und verstecktesten Orte von Valtuille, mit viel Schatten und Lehmböden. Der Wein hat einige Aromen von schwarzen Oliven, mit mehr Charakter der nördlichen Rhône, was ein wenig wie die Entwicklung vieler 2018er zu sein scheint. Er hat mehr Tannin als der 2019er, den ich daneben verkostet habe, und könnte auch etwas reifer sein, etwa 13,7% Alkohol. Davon gab es nur ein 225-Liter-Eichenfass. Nur 300 Flaschen produziert."

"A new single-vineyard bottling from Castro Ventosa, the 2018 Valtuille La Vitoriana was first separated this year—in the past, it contributed to other blends. The vineyard is a total of four hectares and has five owners. They own 0.9 hectares here, and it's one of the oldest and hidden places of Valtuille, with lots of shadow and clay soils. The wine has some aromas of black olives, with more Northern Rhone character, which seems to be a little like the evolution of many 2018s. It has more tannin than the 2019 I tasted next to it and might be a little riper as well, some 13.7% alcohol. There was only one 225-liter oak barrel of this. Only 300 bottles produced."
