A striking gu-form brass vase with a mid-section band of cloisonné enamel in turquoise, teal, cream and moss green, worked in an archaistic scroll motif. The metal has taken on a beautiful warm patina that sets off the colours perfectly, giving that “old money” library feel. The base carries a small stamped character mark.

Early–mid 20th century and East Asian in origin, it’s a superb decorative piece with presence for a console, mantel or styled shelving. Height 30 cm (11.8"). Condition is honest and decorative: surface wear and tarnish from age, small enamel nicks and touch-ups in places, faint line to the collar and minor marks to the foot—nothing that detracts from display, and the piece stands true.
