The Patagonia Torrentshell 3L Pant are packable light over trousers that will keep you dry and protected when the weather takes an unexpected turn for the worst. Constructed with H2NO Performance Standard shell with an added DWR finish. H2NO Performance Standard shell 3 layer fabric is lightweight and totally waterproof. H2NO is not the name of the fabric but a level to which it has been tested by Patagonia. It essentially is the level of performance required by Patagonia to be classed as waterproof and breathable. So H2NO comes in various weights and levels of durability.

With a comfortable elasticated waist with an internal drawcord it makes the pants easy to get on and off this is further assisted by the two-way side zips that extend from the ankle hem to the thigh, making it easy work, even with boots on. The zips are DWR treated and welted to assist in keeping the weather out and they can also be used as vents to help you cool down when working hard. The two zipped handwarmer pockets have mesh pocket bags, storm flaps and DWR treated zips. Articulated knees assist with freedom of movement. At the hem there is an adjustable snap tab closure and they benefit from being partially elastic to assist with a good pant to boot seal. When the pants are not in use they can be stored inside the left hand pocket which features a carabiner clip-in loop.
